Building Friendships and Skills in a Vibrant Social Setting
At Lifelink Care, we know that some of life’s best moments happen when we are together. Our Group and Centre Activities (NDIS Group 0136) are designed to bring people together in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. We move away from the “clinical” feel of traditional care, focusing instead on creating a community hub where you can explore your hobbies, learn new things, and—most importantly—build genuine friendships.
Whether you are looking to boost your social confidence or simply want a weekly highlight to look forward to, our centre-based programs offer a world of opportunity. By participating in group activities, you gain a sense of belonging and the emotional relief that comes from being part of a team that values and supports you.
A Diverse Calendar of Engaging Activities
Our programs are constantly evolving based on the interests and feedback of our participants. We ensure there is always something exciting happening at the centre:
- Creative Arts & Expression: Explore your artistic side through painting, pottery, music sessions, and drama workshops. These activities are great for self-expression and building fine motor skills.
- Life Skills Workshops: In a group setting, we practice “real-world” tasks like team cooking, basic first aid, and digital literacy, allowing you to learn from your peers while you build independence.
- Health & Wellness Sessions:Stay active and relaxed with group yoga, gentle exercise classes, and mindfulness sessions designed to improve your physical health and mental clarity.
- Themed Social Events: We celebrate everything from birthdays and cultural festivals to movie marathons and trivia nights, providing plenty of chances to relax and have fun with friends.
The Real Outcome: Confidence and Social Connection
The true value of group activities is the transformation in your social life. For many participants, the centre becomes a second home—a place where they feel understood and included.
- Social Confidence: Practicing social interactions in a supportive group helps reduce social anxiety. You’ll find yourself feeling more comfortable starting conversations and sharing your ideas.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Working on group projects or playing team sports helps you understand the value of cooperation and builds your leadership skills.
- A Support Network of Peers: Beyond our professional staff, you will build a network of friends who share similar life experiences. This peer support is an incredible source of emotional strength.
A Professional Team in a Safe Environment
Your safety and comfort are our top priorities. Our centre is designed to be fully accessible and welcoming to everyone. Our support workers are highly trained to facilitate group dynamics, ensuring that every person—regardless of their support needs—has a chance to participate fully. We maintain a high staff-to-participant ratio to ensure that you always have the individual attention you need while enjoying the energy of the group.
